MANILA, March 2 – Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila De Lima assured on Friday that the result of the investigation being conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) into the death of Marvin Reglos will be fair.

The NBI, which is the Philippines' premier investigating body, is an attached agency of the DOJ.

De Lima said that the reason why she talked to Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo is because the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be the lead agency in the investigation.

The NBI, De Lima said, is not the lead agency in the investigation despite the request of the Reglos family.

It is so, De Lima said, so as not to taint whatever will be the result of the investigation.

The sorority of De Lima in San Beda College is allied with the Lambda Rho Beta Fraternity, wherein Reglos was a neophyte member.

Likewise, De Lima also appealed to the public to just allow the authorities to do their job and not to pre-judge the ongoing investigation. (PNA) scs/PTR
