CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Feb. 27 — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office will decentralize the registration of union and workers association to its provincial field offices.

The move is in line with DOLE's strategic plan to boost competitiveness and promote decent and productive work at the workplace in Central Luzon.

DOLE regional director Raymundo G. Agravante said 23 focal persons from the DOLE provincial field offices (PFOs) in the region were recently oriented on the registration of union and workers association.

Engineer Eduardo Dela Cruz, head of the Technical Support and Services Division for Labor Relations and Labor Standards (TSSD 1) of the DOLE regional office 3, said the objective of the orientation is to equip the focal persons with the necessary skills and techniques on the laws governing the registration as well as with its process flow.

Among the topics discussed during the orientation include the requirements on the registration of independent union such as a duly accomplished and notarized application form; minutes of organizational meetings and attendance sheet; list of members; and minutes of adoption or ratification of the constitution and by-laws, among others.

Also discussed were the proper usage of the database system of the union, collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and workers registration.

“With the registration of union and workers association decentralized in the provincial field offices in the region, processing of application will be fast-tracked and inexpensive on the part of our clients,” Agravante said. (PNA)
