BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Feb. 22 — City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III on Tuesday afternoon commended on the spot a traffic enforcer who caused the arrest of a tricycle driver with two sachets of dried marijuana fruiting tops found tucked in the expired driver’s license.

The city mayor lauded “for job well-done” traffic enforcer Ronnie Cruz for the arrest of tricycle driver Ronald Sanggalang of Barangay Bilolo, Orion town.

“We need city employees like Cruz in our resolve to rid the city of illegal drugs,” Garcia said.

Reports showed that Cruz flagged down the suspect for disregarding a traffic sign.

When asked to present a driver’s license, the tricycle driver casually drew from his pocket the license and gave it to the apprehending officer.

The traffic enforcer said the license was not only expired but allegedly had two sachets of dried marijuana fruiting tops tucked into it.

Cruz turned over the suspect to the Balanga City police for proper disposition.

Police said the suspect faces a case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (PNA)
