BAGUIO CITY, Feb. 15 -Teachers and students of the University of the Cordilleras have started planting dozens of new roses at the re-designed rose garden of Burnham Park.

City Vice Mayor Farinas welcomed the move by the university which designed the park's development master plan for the 21st century.

The local government has spent P20 million for the re-designing of the rose garden.

It is not known when the planting activity would be completed.

This is aimed at giving Burnham Park a more sophisticated and refreshing look considering that it is just in front of the Rizal Park where hundreds of travelers pass by daily.

It also serves as one of the favorite stopovers for those who prefer to walk through the five-hectare park towards the Baguio city hall.

Farinas said the city's commitment to sustain the city's international tourism business would further make the city clean, full of flowers and green foliage. (PNA)
