MANILA, Feb. 11 – Police on Saturday are digging deeper into the motive surrounding the death of long-time boyfriend of former Quezon City Rep. Nanette Castelo-Daza's right inside her house in Quezon City Friday night.

Noel Orate Sr., 55, a manager of the United Laboratories, Inc., was found sprawled dead with five gunshot wounds in the body inside Daza's house at 51 Maningning Street, Barangay Teacher's Village East, Quezon City.

Police held Daza’s son-in-law Allan Robes, a board member of Bulacan province, for questioning right after Orate was found dead at past 10 p.m. Friday. Robes is married to Daza’s daughter Quezon City councilor Jessica Castelo Daza.

Robes remained detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit in Camp Karingal.

Police said they responded to a call about a commotion inside the Daza residence past 10 p.m. on Friday. Policemen dispatched to check on the report suddenly heard successive shots being fired. They then saw Robes, still armed with a .380 gun, about to leave the compound.

Police said there was no clear motive yet as both parties declined to give details of the shooting incident. (PNA) RMA/JCA
