MANILA, Feb. 11 – President Benigno S. Aquino III has appointed Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon Francis H. Jardeleza as the new Solicitor General following the resignation of Jose Anselmo Cadiz.

The Office of Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr. announced the appointment of Jardeleza on Saturday.

The newly-installed Solicitor General Jardeleza was formerly senior vice president and general counsel of the food and beverage giant San Miguel Corporation.
