Gov’t employees of Aklan to have houses of their own

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 21 – Government employees in the province of Aklan may have houses to call their own soon following the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the local government units of Aklan and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-ibig Fund) for the establishment of an LGU Housing Program in the said province.

The MOA signing was witnessed by no less than Vice President Jejomar C. Binay during his visit in Aklan in time for the recently concluded Feast of Senor Sto. Nino de Kalibo 2012.

While in town, Binay met the local chief executives of various LGUs in Aklan last Friday, January 13 in Kalibo. According to him, the program aims to enable government employees in Aklan to own houses worth P375,000 by paying P2,000 monthly.

Binay also met with mayors from Antique and Capiz provinces who also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Vice President and the Pag-IBIG Chief Executive Officer Atty. Darlene Marie Berberabe for the inclusion of job orders hired by LGUs as Pag-IBIG members.

Also present during the MOU signing were Aklan Gov. Carlito S. Marquez, Mayor William Lachica of Kalibo and Mayor Ramon S. Legaspi Jr. of Makato, Aklan. (PNA)
