2 students killed, 3 others hurt in Nueva Ecija road accident

SCIENCE CITY OF MUNOZ, Nueva Ecija, Jan. 9 – Two freshmen at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) died while three others were injured when the tricycle they were riding in was hit by another tricycle and a truck in Barangay Bantog here on Sunday night.

Police report said that Stefanie Santos, 16, of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya; and Lileth Linsangan, 16, of Guimba, Nueva Ecija, died when their tricycle was bumped from the rear by another tricycle, forcing it to turn to the opposite lane where it collided with a truck.

Their companions, fellow freshman students Crizza Villanueva, Riza May Linsangan and Geraldine Angeles suffered injuries. They were taken to a hospital in Cabanatuan City.

The police also said that the five students came from a shopping mall here and were on their way to their dormitory at the CLSU campus when the accident took place along the Maharlika Highway at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. (PNA)
