US aid for Yemeni media institutions discussed

SANA'A, Jan. 5 — Yemen and the USA discussed here on Wednesday the American possible aid for the Yemeni media institutions.

Information Minister Ali al-Amrani and US ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein focused in their discussion on the assistance the USA could offer to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) damaged due to the Alhasaba conflicts to be restored as well as the support for enhancing the state media outlets.

Al-Amrani valued Feierstein and the USA's efforts to support the national reconciliation and the political process in the country in addition to its support for Yemen's unity, security and stability.

The US diplomat pointed to the importance of forming a committee to contact with the youths according to the Gulf initiative to insure their participation in constructing the country and realizing their ambitions of change and development.

He said that Yemen has achieved good steps politically, asserting his country's support for exerted efforts to bring stability back to the country and to implement the Gulf initiative.

He said that the USA was ready to study the desired aid to the Yemeni media institutions and to restore SABA Agency. (PNA/Saba)
