MANILA, Dec. 31 – The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Saturday it filed charges against a policeman suspected of shooting a police team which raided a warehouse of illegal fireworks in Fairview, Novaliches, Quezon City last Thursday.

QCPD (QCPD) director Chief Supt. George Regis identified the suspect as PO1 Faisal Marmala, who was suspected of shooting to death PO2 Bernard Quintero and the wounding of PO2 Jessie Adajar, both member of QCPD station 5.

Regis said Marmala was now under QCPD custody.

Investigators were also looking into Marmala's alleged link with illegal fireworks traders after some people claimed that he owns the warehouse where the illegal fireworks were found.

Regis said Marmala is facing administrative sanctions and be dismissed from the service, if the evidence warrants. (PNA) RMA/JCA
