GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija, Dec. 30 — "Do not buy firecrackers," cried Fermilyn Silva, 26, of Barangay Triala here whose son was buried on Friday.

Her six-year-old son, John Ezequiel, died of multiple injuries when the tricycle loaded with firecrackers, and driven by her husband, Noli, exploded in Norzagaray, Bulacan last Dec. 26.

Noli still has to undergo operation at the Philippine General Hospital, Silva said.

She said that at a young age, her son was dreaming of becoming a policeman or working overseas to uplift their lives.

It was the fourth year that they engaged in transporting firecrackers from Bulacan, using a loaned tricycle.

Because of the incident, she said, she does not know what will be the future of her family.

"My husband is in dire need to be operated. I cannot work because I still have to take care of my little children," she said.

John Ezequiel was the eldest of three siblings. (PNA)
