MANILA, Nov. 14 — Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. turned over to Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo on Monday P500,000 cash reward for individuals who will give information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the October 28 murder of Ramgen Bautista in Parañaque City.

Robredo thanked Revilla for the latter’s trust and confidence in the DILG’s capability to lawfully and soundly manage the reward money, giving assurance that the amount would be given to reliable and credible informants who would help in the resolution of the case.

“I’m grateful and thankful to Senator Bong Revilla for his trust and confidence in our office to handle the reward money. I assure him that the amount would be disposed and released to the right person entitled to it,” he said.

Last Thursday, Revilla’s spokesman for the Ramgen Bautista murder case and the Janelle Manahan frustrated murder case, Atty. Jeffrey-John Zarate, wrote to the DILG chief that the senator has committed P500,000 from his personal account as reward money for informants in the case.

The Paranaque PNP office has filed charges against seven persons for the killing of Ramgen, including his two younger siblings identified as Ramon Joseph, who is currently detained at the Paranaque City Jail, and Ramona who had flown to Turkey reportedly to evade prosecution.

The others charged were Roy Francis Tolisora, Michael Nartea, a certain Bryan, Glaiza Vista and Norwin dela Cruz. (PNA) DCT/scs/JCA
