4 persons wounded in Quezon shooting incident

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Nov. 13 — Four persons, including three members of a family, were wounded in a shooting incident in Candelaria, Quezon on Friday evening, the Candelaria Municipal Police Office said.

In a report to Senior Superintendent Erickson Velasquez, Quezon Provincial Police director, Chief Inspector Alvin Consolacion, Calendaria town police chief, identified those wounded as Christopher Liwag, 41, his son Christopher Jr., 10, daughter-in-law Erica Abarquez-Bioc, all of Barangay Poblacion, Candelaria, Quezon; and Joshua Brisenio Godoy, 19, single, of Barangay Masalukot 1, Candelaria.

The report said the shooting incident happened at the house of the Bioc family at around 9:20 p.m.

Velasquez said initial investigation by the Candelaria police disclosed that the Bioc family members were having supper when unidentified gunmen on board a motorcycle appeared and for unknown reasons peppered them with bullets.

Police said the suspects fired another shot before leaving, hitting Godoy who happened to be in the area.

The injured victims were treated at the Peter Paul Hospital in the town. (PNA)
