MANILA, Oct. 20 — Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III confirmed on Thursday the creation of a task force to investigate the killing of Italian missionary priest Fr. Fausto Tentorio.

Fr. Tentorio was brutally murdered in Arakan, North Cotabato on Monday.

In a press conference, Baraan said that the task force will be composed of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the local prosecutor in the area.

Baraan added that the task force will determine the motive behind the murder of Fr. Tentorio.

Once those people behind the killing are determined, Baraan said criminal charges will be immediately filed against them.

One of the angles they will be looking into is the alleged being left-leaning of Fr. Tentorio and his being an organizer of a group which is opposing the mining activity in North Cotabato, Baraan said. (PNA)
