ILOILO CITY, Oct. 4 – The Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) is now gearing for two housing fairs that will be held in the cities of Iloilo and Bacolod in two separate schedules this October.

HUDCC regional coordinator Eva Maria P. Marfil said the two activities adopt a one-stop-shop concept where people “can shop for houses, canvass and inquire from subdivision owners and brokers as well as inquire from the housing financial institutions about housing loan facilities that they may avail by visiting just one place.”

“This way they save time and transportation expenses and can easily compare one project from the other to suit their taste, affordability and choice of location,” she added.

The Iloilo event dubbed as “Western Visayas Housing Fair 2011” in partnership with the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) District C4 will be held in October 10-16 at the Amigo Terrace Mall.

It will kick off with a motorcade that will be participated by shelter agencies, exhibitors and UAP members. It will also be graced by Undersecretary Cecilia S. Alba.

The one in Bacolod entitled “Sugarlandia Regional Housing Fair 2011” in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) is slated October 24-30 at the Fountain Area of Robinsons Place.

Both activities will have exhibits showcasing various housing subdivision projects and different house construction materials and design as well as an on-the-spot painting contest that will focus on the theme “Gaganda ang Buhay sa Sariling Bahay.”

Also adding highlight to the events are the disposition of acquired assets or foreclosed properties of key shelter agencies and government financial institutions as well as housing cliniquing.

“All housing agencies will be represented throughout the event to entertain queries about their respective programs from the general public,” said Marfil.

The events target to serve government employees, privately-employed members of Pag-ibig, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), those looking for residential lots/house and lots, those who want to invest in real estate and those seeking advice about their existing loans from various housing agencies.

The activities are also supported by key shelter agencies under the umbrella of HUDCC to include the National Housing Authority (NHA), Pag-ibig Fund, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) and the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC).
