MANILA, Aug. 29 — The Ateneo pair of Alyssa Valdez and Bea Tan had to go to the eye of the needle in disposing of Michelle Gumabao and rookie Camille Cruz of De La Salle, 21-19, 19-21, 15-2, to secure their second straight win in UAAP Season 74 women's beach volleyball at the University of the East (UE) sand court in Caloocan.
The Lady Eagles lost their momentum in the face of the Lady Archers’ searing second-set comeback, but were able to regroup in the decider on Valdez’s crisp and vicious attacks.
