MANILA, April 12 — A Catholic prelate has urged pro-reproductive health bill solons to reflect on their stand this Holy Week.

"Ang Semana Santa ay panahon ng pagninilay, sana gamitin itong panahon ng ating mga kongresista sa pag-review ng kanilang stand especially about life, especially also their stand with regard to the Reproductive Health Bill [Holy Week is a time to contemplate, I hope our congressmen will use this chance to review their stand…]," said San Carlos Bishop Jose Advincula in a radio interview over Catholic church-run Radyo Veritas.

Congress is expected to start the debate on the bill once it resumes session on May 9 after a one-month recess from March 26 to May 8.

The pending bill is for approval on second reading.

"We will still try to do our best in order to let our voice be heard especially by our legislators and we continue praying also that they will have a change of heart especially those who are for the RH bill," he said.

Anti-RH bill rallies have been held for the past few weeks to oppose the passage of the controversial bill. (PNA) DCT/jmc
