Oban, 20 other generals take oath before commander-in-chief P-Noy

MANILA, April 4 — Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Eduardo S. L. Oban Jr. and 20 other generals and flag officers took their oath before commander-in-chief President Benigno S. Aquino III at Malacañang Palace.

Participating Vice Admiral and a Lieutenant General in the oath-taking ceremony included VAdm Alexander P. Pama, Flag Officer-in-Command, Philippine Navy (PN), and LtGen Arthur I. Tabaquero, Commander, Eastern Mindanao Command.

Rear Admirals include RAdm Orwen J. Cortez, Vice Chief, PN, and RAdm Edgar L. Abogado, Chief of Naval Staff, PN,.

Participating Major Generals are MGen Ramiro A. Alivio, The Naval Inspector General, PN, MGen Elmir S. Dela Cruz, Deputy Chief of Staff for AFP Communications Electronic Information System (J6), MGen Romulo M. Bambao, Chief, Intelligence Service AFP, and MGen Nonato Alfredo T. Peralta, Superintendent, Philippine Military Academy (PMA).

Brigadier Generals taking part in the oath-taking are BGen Mariano A. Veloria, Commander, 53 Engineering Brigade, Philippine Army (PA), BGen Samuel L. Narbuada, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff (ADCS) for Intelligence (AJ2),

BGen Alex N. Albano, Commander, ARESCOM, PA, BGen Arnolfo A. Atendido, Assistant Deputy Chief 7ID, PA, BGen Ramona P Go, ADCS for Personnel, (AJ1), BGen Maximo G. Caro, Commandant, Cadet Corps AFP, PMA and BGen Lito S. Tabangcura, Commander, AFP Reserved Command.

Completing the list of promoted officers from the Philippine Navy are Commodore Isabelo H. Gador, Chief, Office of the Legislative Affairs, Commodore Geronimo L. Aganon, Deputy Chief, Naval Sea Systems Command, Commodore Caesar C. Taccad, Commander, Naval Force Northern Luzon, PN, and Commodore Wenefredo B. Banua, Chairman, PN Bids and Awards Committee.

After the oath-taking, the newly-promoted star rank officers returned to the General Headquarters Canopy Area for the Arrival Honors and the traditional Courtesy Call to the AFP Chief Gen. Oban at the main restaurant, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Clubhouse.

Promotions in the AFP are vital in the organization to ensure that the key players are placed in the forefront to maintain the momentum in every security operations.
