PDEA nets 88 suspected drug dealers in QC raid

MANILA, Feb. 21 -– The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Monday it arrested 88 suspected drug dealers during a midday saturation drive in Novaliches, Quezon City as a pre-emptive anti-drug measure within the area.

PDEA said, with the active participation of the Quezon City Government, they were brought to the Quezon City Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (QCTRC) for drug rehabilitation processing.

Last February 16, PDEA launched Operation Plan: Eclipse and Bora-Bora across the PDEA headquarters in Barangay Pinyahan wherein the target were suspected drug traffickers in a colony of informal settlers.

PDEA Director General Jose S. Gutierrez Jr. stated that the successful operation was conducted on the strength of Search Warrants numbered 11-17260 to 11-17266 against seven target locations in neighboring areas.

He lauded the joint efforts of the Metro Manila Regional Office (MMRO), led by Regional Director Wilkins M. Villanueva, together with the elite Special Enforcement Service (SES), PDEA Regional Offices 3, 4-A, 4-B and the Quezon City Police District-Philippine National Police. (PNA) DCT/JCA
