MANILA, Feb. 4 – Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) raided on Friday a suspected drug laboratory in Potrero, Malabon City, where one Chinese national believed to be one of its maintainers was arrested.

NCRPO chief Director Nicanor Bartolome said the alleged drug den was located in 1 Silver Town Homes, Potrero, Malabon.

The NCRPO chief declined to identify the arrested suspect pending further investigation.

Bartolome also said the busted drug laboratory was believed to be one of the sources of all illegal drugs being peddled in Metro Manila.

Bartolome said the house where the laboratory was located was revealed to them by a gang member they arrested earlier.

"We suspected this to be the laboratory where the methamphetamine hydrochloride was produced. We suspect the shabu being peddled by the gang members we arrested came from this house," he said.

He said they conducted the raid after securing a search warrant, but added no one was inside the house when they searched it.

NCRPO operatives had to wear face masks because of the stink of chemicals.

Recovered from the house were big quantities of substance believed to be used in the manufacture of shabu. (PNA)
