2 die in motorcycle accident in Pagbilao, Quezon

LUCENA CITY, Jan. 30 -– Two persons were killed when their motorcycle hit an electric post in Pagbilao, Quezon on Friday afternoon, Senior Supt. Erickson Velasquez, Quezon Provincial Police director, said on Sunday. Velasquez said Chief Insp. Laudemir Llaneta, Pagbilao police chief, identified one of the victims as Kim Estopacio Latayan, 22, of Barangay Ilayang Dupay, Lucena City.

He said Llaneta reported that the incident occurred along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Ibabang Palsabangon in Pagbilao.

Velasquez said initial investigation conducted by Llaneta and his men disclosed that the victims were aboard a sports motorbike driven by Latayan on their way to this city when the incident happened.

Police probers said Latayan failed to negotiate a curve portion of the Maharlika Highway, causing the motorcycle to slam on an electric post. The two victims died on the spot due to the strong impact. (PNA)
