Uruguayan anti drug brigade confiscates 702 Kg marijuana

MONTEVIDEO, Jan. 13 — Anti drug brigade on Wednesday confiscated 702 Kg of marijuana in northeast Uruguay and arrested 5 people including 2 Argentineans, Interior Ministry said.

Interior Ministry said that the operation started when a van transporting drugs was stopped at 320 km of the National Route 3, in Paysandu Department, in the border area with Argentina.

The vehicle was heading toward Montevideo and driven by a 38-year-old Uruguayan.

Operation "Camboata" continued as other agents intercepted two cars with alleged accomplices near Trinidad, 188 km North of Montevideo. (PNA/Xinhua)
