One of most wanted drug personalities in Bataan falls

BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Dec. 18 — A man listed as one of the most wanted drug personalities in this province fell into the hands of the police during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dona Francisca in this city Friday morning.

Senior Inspector Ronnie Fabia, deputy police chief of Balanga, said the suspected drug pusher, Barie Medina, 36, of Barangay Paraiso, Orani town, was arrested while in the act of selling shabu to a police poseur-buyer using two marked P500-bill.

Police found in the possession of the suspect one small heat-sealed plastic sachet of shabu, four medium heat-sealed plastic sachet of shabu, three disposable lighters, two water pipes, aluminum foil and a scissor.

“The suspect is one of the most wanted drug personalities in Bataan and the police has been monitoring him for a long time,” Fabia said.

Medina admitted using illegal drugs.

On the sale of shabu, he said he was forced to do so due “to hardship in life but I am supposed to stop.”

The street value of the illegal drugs seized from him was placed at more than P50,000.

The suspect is now facing a case for violation of the comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, a non-bailable offense. (PNA) scs/zst/EBE/ps
