MANILA, Dec. 12 — Bulacan police operatives raided a warehouse in Marilao on Thursday, resulting in the recovery of a large stash of expensive household appliances.

Quoting reports from the field, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that elements of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, Bulacan Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and Bulacan Highway Patrol Team stormed a storage of suspected hijacked cargo at No. 90 Iglesia ni Cristo St., Sta. Rosa II, Marilao, Bulacan owned by Numeriano Cristobal.

Recovered were 22 units of Samsung refrigerators, 26 units of Samsung Slim Fit TV and a washing machine.

Investigation revealed that the recovered items were hijacked by six suspects wearing police uniform on Dec. 6 while being transported by Ximex Delivery Express on board a wing-type cargo truck along the East Service Road in Barangay San Martin De Porres, Marilao town.

The truck was later abandoned along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) in Barangay Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan, but already without its cargo.

Cruz said the Bulacan PNP is now conducting follow-up operations to track down the hijackers while Cristobal is now under investigation. (PNA) scs/MM
