MANILA, Dec. 10 — Leading ham manufacturer CDO-Foodsphere Inc. on Friday assured that it will not raise prices of its hams this month to help the Filipino consumers enjoy the festivity of the Christmas season.

"There is no price increase for Holiday Ham this Christmas," CDO-Foodspere Inc. assistant vice president for marketing Jonathan Bendicion said during the formal launching of the Holiday Ham sales campaign.

The government earlier assured that prices and supply of basic commodities would remain stable this holiday season.

Agriculture Assistant Secretary Davinio Catbagan also assured of a steady supply of meat products in December, which should translate to stable prices.

Bendicion said Foodsphere made sure that its specialty hams, particularly Holiday Ham, were accessible and affordable to Filipino consumers in line with the company's corporate social responsibility.

Holiday Ham, the flagship ham of Foodsphere, would remain at P450 a kilo, Bendicion said.

"We make sure that we serve the people with a Christmas staple that has become a part of the Filipino tradition," he said.

Hams are seasonal products whose sales normally pick up during the Christmas season. Among hams in the market, Holiday Ham is considered a high-quality, premium product that is appropriate for the celebration.

Holiday Ham is made from whole boneless meat from the hind leg of pork , which is the best cut of pork for hams. This makes Holiday Ham tastier and meatier compared to the more common shaped hams.

Holiday Ham is also a high-quality smoked ham. Only whole-meat hams can be smoked in ham nets, because hams molded from different pieces may fall during the smoking process.

Finally, Holiday Ham has no extenders because it is whole-meat and its appearance, taste and texture will prove that. That’s why Holiday Ham is meaty, juicy and flavorful. It is available in all leading supermarkets nationwide.

Over the years, CDO Christmas Hams have been a part of the Filipino Christmas tradition, owing to the stringent quality control under the supervision of company founder Corazon Dayro Ong, who was adjudged the Woman Entrepreneur of 2009 by Ernst & Young and MVP Bossing Awardee for Manufacturing in 2010.(PNA)
