APA: Israel should withdraw completely from occupied Arab territories, join NPT

DAMASCUS, Dec. 1 — Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on Tuesday called for Israel's complete withdraw from occupied Arab territories, the Syrian official SANA news agency reported.

In the final statement of the fifth conference of APA held in Damascus, representatives of the Asian parliaments stressed that Israel should withdraw from the occupied Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian territories, in addition to the necessity of establishing the Palestinian state with full sovereignty and Jerusalem as its capital and the return of six million Palestinian refugees to their homeland according to the related UN resolutions.

The statement also called on Israel to join the nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and put all of its nuclear institutions under inspection of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the report.

The legislators from 20 Asian countries attended the two-day conference which kicked off on Monday. (PNA/Xinhua)
