Five killed in Caloocan City fire

MANILA, Nov. 2 — Five people were killed as a fire of still unknown origin gutted a house in Caloocan City's Pangarap Village Monday night.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Randy Resurreccion identified the five fatalities as Irene Galeta; Irene and Mary Rose, both surnamed Tabinas; Olivia Mabalay, and a certain Jopet.

He added that the blaze started at 9pm and was put out by responding firefighters an hour later.

Resurreccion said the bodies of the fire victims were found huddled inside the comfort room of the house along Narra st.

Initial investigation showed part of the house was used as a storeroom for gasoline. Arson investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire. (PNA)
