Bodybuilding: Lanao del Norte ready for nation’s biggest bodybuilding contest

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Oct. 21 — The provincial government of Lanao del Norte is set to host the country’s biggest bodybuilding competition next month, officials of the province said on Thursday.

The officials of the provincial government have already started to prepare their state-of-the art and modern gymnasium, hotel and other function buildings for the contestants, guests and tourists, both foreign and domestic for the big event.

“It’s all systems go as Lanao del Norte gets set for the biggest bodybuilding competition this province has ever seen,” said Lanao del Norte Gov. Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo.

Professional and amateur body builders have already made their official presentation last Tuesday at the Gold’s Gym-Makati City.

Initially, at least 30 professional and amateur body builders have already pledged to join the contest slated on November 20 at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium here.

“National competition like this featuring renowned athletes only proves that Lanao del Norte is truly a peaceful place and fast-growing province in Mindanao,” said the 30-year old provincial chief executive.

Dubbed as “Maskulino Pilipino 2010” – Bodybuilding and Figure Championship, this will be the first-ever bodybuilding competition to be held in this fast-rising province in Mindanao.

Already acclaimed as the Motocross capital of the Philippines by top riders in the country, Lanao del Norte is also fast-becoming the preferred sporting destination in Southern Philippines.

“We want to share with the rest of the country our world-class sports complex”, stressed Gov. Dimaporo.

The young and workaholic governor has already mobilized all officials and department heads of the province for the successful upcoming bodybuilding competition.

The provincial government also prepared some interesting program to entertain the participants and guests during the opening ceremony.
