Palace declares Oct. 25 as special non-working holiday

MANILA, Oct. 7 — Malacanang has issued Proclamation No. 84 declaring Oct. 25, 2010 as a special non-working holiday throughout the country in connection with the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., who signed the proclamation on Oct. 6 and released it on Thursday, said it is imperative that the people be given the fullest opportunity to exercise their right to vote in the coming Barangay and SK polls. (PNA) scs/rudyma
