MANILA, Sept. 24 — Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Quezon City Chapter said Friday it has served 14 patients with minor injuries when policemen and demolition team clashed Thursday afternoon with North Triangle residents in Quezon City.

A PRC ambulance team was stationed in the EDSA Station to deliver assistance to the 13 demolition workers and one policeman who sustained bruises, lacerations, abrasions or punctures when residents of the compound in Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Bagong Pagasa, North Triangle threw stones at the demolition team at around 12:30 P.M. Thursday.

Based on news reports, the demolition team and their police escorts were forced to regroup because of the resistance from San Roque residents.

Residents held a vigil on Wednesday night to condemn their impending relocation at a housing site in Rizal province to give way to a P 22-billion joint venture between Ayala Land Inc. (AI) and the National Housing Authority to develop the North Triangle area as a central business and commercial district. (PNA) LOR/JCA
