MANILA, Sept. 24 -– The electronic arm of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (ePLDT) is helping the Quezon City government in creating a backup of important data, especially for its two revenue-generating offices.

These are the Assessor’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office which are already having a simpler task in data processing.

Mayor Herbert M. Bautista and ePLDT, represented by its vice president for sales and marketing Ms. Lourdes Jessica N. Powell, have signed a collocation agreement for the use of Vitro Data Center located at IDC Building, Carlos P. Garcia corner Canley Road, Barrio Ugong, Pasig City.

Vitro Data Center, which is owned and operated by ePLDT, will house QC government equipment to serve as production server or backups of data generated from the city’s business transactions.

Aside from Mayor Bautista, other guests of honor at the signing ceremony held the other day were Beth Lui, ePLDT president and CEO, and Jun Domingo, ePLDT Customer Support Group head. (PNA) scs/JCA
