No Filipinos hurt in New Zealand 7.4-magnitude quake

MANILA, Sept. 4 —The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said there were no Filipinos hurt in the 7.4 magnitude earthquake early this morning that centered in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand’s second biggest city. Philippine honorary consul Peter Wright is helping the Filipino community in dealing with the situation in the tiny Pacific nation, DFA said.

About 40,000 Filipinos live in New Zealand, including in the national capital of Wellington. (PNA)
