Jobs available for Ilonggo workers

ILOILO CITY , Aug 24 The job fair Trabaho Para sa Inyo, Sulong Iloilo will kick-off Wednesday as one of the highlights of the 73rd Charter Day celebration of the city.
About a thousand job seekers are expected to flock the Amigo Plaza Mall where the job booths will be opened to applicants starting 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog urged everyone to avail of the opportunity to find jobs and hopefully be hired on the spot during the one-day event.
At least 14 overseas employment agencies and 28 local employers have signified their intention to join.
Every job fair conducted by the Iloilo City Public Employment Service Office gathers not less than 1,000 job applicants, according to PESO Manager Alan Zaldivar.
The activity is sponsored by the City Government through the PESO, with strong support from the office of City Councilor Plaridel Nava II.
Nava is the Sangguniang Panlungsods chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment that also helps facilitate solutions and referrals to industry-related problems of workers.
Trabaho Para sa Inyo, Sulong Iloilo is likewise supported by the Department of Labor and Employment, Iloilo Business Club, City Tourism and Development Office, City Public Information Office, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Amigo Plaza Mall, ABS-CBN, Iloilo City Hall Press Corps, and Mang Inasal.
