MANILA, Aug. 23 -– The Senate finally announced on Monday the 12 senators who will serve as members of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) after Senator Manuel Villar gave his seat to Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano.
Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile told the media that Villar gave way to Cayetano who questioned last week the composition of the Senate's CA component.
”That is internal to them. All’s well that ends well,” Enrile said before Monday's session where the Senate membership to the CA was approved.
Cayetano will be joined by Senator Joker Arroyo as the only two senators from the minority bloc in the CA as against 10 senators from the super majority group.
The 10 CA members from the majority group are Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, Senators Franklin Drilon, Ralph Recto, Francis Escudero, Sergio Osmena III, Gregorio Honasan, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Edgardo Angara and Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
