(Metro News) Ex-Defense chief

MANILA, Aug. 21 – The driver of former Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzales was injured when the vehicle he was driving smashed into a concrete barrier early dawn Saturday in Quezon City, police said.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD)-Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigators said the victim, Dante Faustino suffered leg and head wounds and was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Initial reports by QCPD-TEU said Faustino was driving a Toyota Tamaraw FX when the vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier at 4 a.m. along the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue in Barangay Commonwealth, Novaliches, Quezon City.

A rescue team from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) rushed to the scene to help Faustino free his legs that were pinned by the impact of the accident. (PNA) RMA/JCA
