DAVAO CITY, Aug. 3 – Davao City has beefed up its food fortification program that is leading to the decrease in the prevalence rate of malnutrition in the city.

National Nutrition Council (NNC) regional coordinator in Region 11 Maria Teresa Ungson said for three years, the prevalence rate of malnutrition continued to drop. In 2007, it was reported at 6.7 while in 2008, it was 6.6 and in 2009, it dropped to 6.1.
