MANILA, July 26 — The Office of the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) said on Monday it will cooperate with President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III in the investigation of anomalous transactions allegedly committed during the past administration.

This was the reaction of Assistant Ombudsman Jose de Jesus Jr. on the first State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) of the President during the opening session of the 15th Congress at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.

"We have heard the mission, vision and the direction of governance of the President. We'll cooperate with him in all these things about anomalous matters mentioned in his speech," De Jesus said.

The Office of the Ombudsman has directed field investigators to expand their investigation into these things, he added. (PNA) scs/PTR
