Militant teachers wants probe vs. ex-GSIS head

MANILA, July 19 – Militant teacher belonging to the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) held a peaceful rally Monday at President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III’s house on 25 Times Street, Barangay West Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.

QCPD-Tactical Operation Center (TOC) said the small group of 10 teachers, who were there from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. called on President Aquino to investigate former GSIS president and general manager Winston Garcia for alleged irregularities in the pension fund.

The rallyists asked President Aquino to immediately scrap the “unjust and illegal” policies of Garcia and refund P 1.7 billion in deductions from teachers’ benefits.
