WEATHER UPDATE: 'Basyang' weakens as it moves towards South China

MANILA, July 14 — Tropical Storm "Basyang" (International Code Name: Conson) now with its 19 kph pace gradually moves farther out of the country in a northwest direction towards South China.

Robert S. Sawi, Pagasa spokesman and OIC of the Weather Forecasting Division, said the center of TS "Basyang" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 180 km. west of Iba, Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Basyang will be at 480 km. west of Laoag City by Thursday afternoon.

Public Storm Signal No. 1 is still hoisted over Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan.

Sawi said the country, except those under the storm signal, would gradually experience improved weather condition. (PNA)
