MANILA, July 8 – Justice Secretary Leila De Lima on Thursday suspected that former Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan, Sr. is having a special treatment at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Andal, Sr., is one of the prime suspects in the Maguindanao massacre that claimed the lives of 57 civilians, including 15 women and 30 media practitioners in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao on Nov. 23, 2009.

De Lima said that Andal, Sr. needs to be brought back to the BJMP in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City before the trial resumes.

Andal, Sr. is now confined at the V. Luna Medical Center in Quezon City for the treatment of his "herpes zoroaster".

According to De Lima, the court must disclose to the public the result of the medical treatment on Andal, Sr. as contained in the court order itself. (PNA)
