DAVAO CITY, July 1 – A total of 4,894 examinees have registered for the upcoming Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE) in Davao City on July 3-4, the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) said Thursday.

PRC regional director Josephine Villegas Liamzon said NLE will be conducted at the University of Mindanao (UM), University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), San Pedro College (SPC) and Brokenshire College.

Liamzon said everything is already in place including the room assignments for the nursing board.

“The room assignments are posted at the entrance of the PRC office at Granland Building, R. Castillo St. in Davao City. They can check even a few minutes after office hours, as there is a big number of people who visit us to inquire," she said.

Liamzon noted the number of examinees here have increased as applicants from Cotabato and General Santos will take the examination in the city, following the closure of satellite offices in those areas.

Meanwhile, Liamzon reminded all universities and colleges to ensure that their licenses to operate board programs are still valid, as per Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 30.

Liamzon said the PRC will not admit applicants for licensure examinations in the future dates from educational institutions that have failed to comply with the order effective January 2011.

She added that the joint efforts from the PRC, CHED and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will be undertaken to enforce the order. (PNA)
