Volunteer firefighters line up QC, Manila streets as tribute to P-Noy

MANILA, June 30 – Close to 100 volunteer firefighters aboard fire trucks lined up the streets of Manila and Quezon City on Wednesday as tribute to President Benigno "Nonoy" C. Aquino III.

They lined up on the motorcade route of President Aquino from Quezon Avenue in Quezon City until España Boulevard and other thoroughfares in Manila.

President Aquino, who was on his way to fetch outgoing President and Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, waved back to the volunteer firefighters.

Participates in the motorcade are the Volunteer Fire Chiefs and Fire Fighters Association of the Philippines (VFCFFAP).

VCFFAP president emeritus George Go Pen Siong and incumbent president Lorenzo Ku said they are one in supporting the leadership of President Aquino

The firetrucks displayed yellow balloons and “P-Noy” Streamers which was waved by the volunteers.

The volunteerism of each volunteer firefighter is a pledge of invitation for all to join in fire prevention. (PNA) FFC/JCA
