MANILA, June 30 – Quezon City has completed preparations for installing its new local administration on Thursday, July 1, at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

Elected QC officials will take their oath of office in the morning after the evening inaugural street party of President Benigno “Nonoy” Aquino III at the QMC on Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City.

QC traffic authorities have already taken the necessary steps to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles along the Elliptical Road and the thoroughfares leading to the Circle.

To avoid traffic congestion, vehicles will be allowed to park only inside the designated areas at the Circle and QC Hall grounds.

But the traffic authorities are also advising motorists not to bring their vehicles to the Circle on Thursday to help prevent any buildup of traffic bottlenecks in the area.

There will be additional traffic enforcers and policemen assigned in the area for the protection of everyone, according to the QC Department of Public Order and Safety.

Mayor-elect Herbert M. Bautista and Vice Mayor-elect Joy Belmonte will lead QC councilors in the oath-taking ceremonies at the Liwasang Aurora inside the Circle, which will take place this Thursday, the first day of July, at 9 a.m.

Chief Justice Renato Corona will preside over the ceremonies where the four QC congressmen, including Representative-elect Feliciano Belmonte Jr. of District 4, will also be sworn in.

The three other representatives are Vincent Crisologo of District 1, Winnie Castelo of District 2 and Jorge “Bolet” Banal Jr. of District 3.

The councilors will be sworn in en masse per district, also by the Chief Justice. (PNA)
