MANILA, June 30 — A total 162 Filipino overseas workers (OFWs) from Lebanon who suffered in the hands of their employers or agencies arrived here on Wednesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

They were housed at the Filipino Workers Resource Center in Beirut while awaiting airfares shouldered by the Department of Labor and Employment, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office. Their maintenance at the Center was funded by the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) project.

Their repatriation is part of the DFA’s continuing efforts to bring back home distressed OFWs from the Middle East and other regions. (PNA)
