BANGUED, Abra, June 23 — Four high–powered firearms with assorted live ammunition and magazine assemblies for different types of guns and several fatigue uniforms were seized in simultaneous raids conducted by the police at the residences of an incumbent mayor and town councilor in Boliney, Abra Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Joseph Adnol, Abra provincial police director, identified the local officials as Boliney town Mayor Ronald Balao-as and his councilor Limo Tulagan Boy-os.

Recovered from the two officials' houses during the raid were two M-16 baby armalite rifles, one super caliber .38 pistol, one caliber .22 rifle, voluminous assorted ammunition and several magazine assemblies for different firearms, and fatigue uniforms.

Adnol said that the lawmen conducted the raids by virtue of search warrants issued by the court.

However, Adnol said that the two local officials eluded arrest as they were not in their respective houses during the raids.

He said that they are now preparing appropriate charges against the two suspected gun holders. (PNA)
