MANILA, June 14 –- Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, one of the vocal critics of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, believes that the outgoing administration has a number of good programs that President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino 3rd should keep when he assumes office on June 30.

”The present administration has good programs that the next government should keep, like in the tourism industry where Secretary (Joseph) Ace Durano did a good job,” Cayetano said in a DZRH radio interview Monday morning.

Aside from tourism, the Arroyo administration also did an excellent job in improving the country’s infrastructure facilities, by building more roads, airports, seaports and irrigation systems.

Cayetano also advised President-elect Aquino to choose the right persons who will compose his official Cabinet.

”Picking the right people for the Cabinet positions is the most crucial decision that President-elect Aquino will have to make once he assumes office,” Cayetano said.

He also encouraged Aquino to adopt what former President Fidel V. Ramos did during his term, where he was able to win the support of almost everybody.

”What former President Ramos did was he formed a working coalition. Although he did not give them positions, he won their sympathy,” Cayetano said. (PNA) scs/jfm
