(Metro News) Human rights advocate loses car to thieves in QC

MANILA, June 4 – Unidentified men stole the sports utility vehicle (SUV) of human rights advocate Editha Burgos in New Manila, Quezon City Thursday night, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Friday.

QCPD Anti-Carnapping Unit (AnCar) probers said Burgos discovered her car was missing from her home on 5th Street, Barangay Mariana, New Manila at around a 6:30 p.m.

Burgos is the mother of Jonas Burgos, who remained missing since he was allegedly abducted on April 28, 2006 in Quezon City by still unidentified suspects.

QCPD-AnCar said Burgos was about to hear mass at the Mount Carmel Church along Broadway Street, New Manila when she learned that the family’s silver Isuzu Crosswind (XGP-840) was missing. (PNA) /JCA
