(Metro News) 4 killed in elevator crash in QC

MANILA, May 29 – Four construction workers were killed and another one was injured after an elevator fell several stories at a construction site in Quezon City late Friday afternoon, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Saturday.

The QCPD-Tactical Operations Center (TOC) said strong winds with heavy rains caused the elevator carrying the victims to collapse and fall to the ground.

QCPD investigators identified the fatalities as Leo Rivas, Gilbert Leonardo, Joey Dellosa and Gabriel Rioso.

Injured was Carlos Lanuan.

The victims were working on a building at 137 West Avenue. They were rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital, but four of them succumbed to their injuries. (PNA) scs/JCA
