MANILA, May 20 –The Manila Police District (MPD) warned the motorists against an alleged notorious fake policeman who is on the loose in Manila.

The warning was issued following the complaint of Renato Seminiano, 25, of Barangay Mar Francisco, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindorro.

He filed a complaint at the Manila Police District-General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS).

The victim described the fake policeman as about 5’9” tall, clad in police uniform and on board a black motorcycle with “police” written on its license plate.

Seminiano said he was on Delpan Bridge in Tondo, Manila when he fell victim to the fake policeman at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was driving a truck (VAE-755) when he was flagged down by the “policeman” who immediately asked for his driver’s license.

However, after asking the driver’s license, the “policeman” then asked for cash in exchange of his driver’s license.

The driver reportedly refused to give cash prompting the impostor to leave the place leaving behind the driver’s license.

The man who claimed to be policeman did not issue ticket for the driver’s traffic violation.

Police are now conducting follow up operation to identify the impostor. (PNA) LOR/JES
