MANILA, May 15 – Catholic bishops are hoping that the newly-elected government officials will fulfill their promises to the electorate.

“I am hoping that they will keep their promises to the people at the time when they were still campaigning,” Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo said in an article posted on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.

Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales earlier asked the new leaders to address the issues of corruption in government. (PNA) scs/FGP/utb
